How does it feel being nominated
for the Filmfare Awards (Best Actress in a Supporting Role -
Waqt
)?
“It feels wonderful being nominated for the awards.
I’ve taken a gap of four years and I’ve come back. I’ve won a
Filmfare for
Satya
earlier. Now
I’ve again been nominated for
Waqt
. It’s an amazing feeling of
acceptance.”
Were
you expecting the nomination?
“I was nominated for a few other
awards and bagged one of them, so I wasn’t sure that I would be nominated
but at the same time hadn’t completely ruled out the
possibility.”
When you
received your nomination letter, your reaction was...?
“I
thought it was some subscription letter till I opened it. It was a beautiful
start to the
day.”
Your
greatest competitor is...?
“They are all very good and
that’s the reason they’ve been nominated. But I personally feel the
either Ayesha Kapoor or Shweta Prasad will walk away with the
trophy.”
Children as
contenders. Demotivated?
“It’s a little unfair to them
and to us – not because they are any lesser than us – they are
probably as brilliant or even more, but because when you nominate a child in a
category with seniors it’s but obvious accepted and expected the child
will win.”
If you do
win...
“...I’ll party with friends and
family.”
